Looking at John Fetterman, GOTV sees several things:
the solid-as-a-rock-working-class environment (Allegheny County and more specifically Braddock) in which Bodhi Mickie grew up
somebody who, because of his beliefs and his politics, must scare the living hagu out of folks like Ted Cruz, Lindsay Graham, and Josh Hawley
somebody who, because he reminds Bodhi of Croce's Don't Mess Around with Jim, must also scare the living guano out of those folks
Croce's Leroy Brown is also germane to this discussion of John Fetterman. The lyric's description of Leroy, which Croce uses as prologue to presenting his own political and spiritual beliefs, could pertain to Mebmet Oz – particularly phrases referencing fancy clothes, diamond rings, Continentals, and El Dorados.
Thankfully for the voters of Pennsylvania, none of that applies to John Fetterman.
